It seems that IT companies are doing their best to push the USB 3.0 standard closer to the mainstream, and Mach Xtreme seems to have chosen a method involving a new model for the FX USB3.0 collection.

It would appear that Mach Xtreme is one of those companies that would like the Super Speed Universal Serial Bus 3.0 standard to become truly widespread as soon as possible.

Of course, considering that the outfit has been delivering storage units based on it or months, this isn't really news.

What is new, however, is that the FX USB3.0 collection of flash drives has grown by one, now that the newest member was officially launched.

In fact, Mach Xtreme issued a press release for this purpose alone, complete with all the technical details prospective customers could possibly want.

Essentially, it is a 128 GB unit with a read and write performance well above that of any USB 2.0 drive.

To be more specific, reading is done at up to 130 MB/s, while writing tasks are accomplished at up to 90 MB/s, a fair jump from the maximum 480 Mbps of the high-Speed iteration of the USB technology.

The above performance and capacity are packed inside a frame measuring 78 mm x 27 mm x 9.3 mm and weighing 39 grams, while power consumption is of up to 4W, or 1W while Idle.

Other assets include a 3-year warranty, compliance with the ROHS, CE and FCC standards and resistance to shock and vibrations.

Finally, the “Optimized for ASUS USB 3.0 Mainboards” certification is meant to denote the fact that the flash drive unit was “rigorously tested' with ASUS USB3.0 motherboards.

Unfortunately, while Mach Xtreme did say the newcomer would be backed by a 3-year warranty, it failed to mention exactly what the so-called “consumer friendly pricing” scheme is.
