14 DAY TRIAL // TeamViewer, a powerful desktop sharing solution developed by a company with the same name, has reached version 6.0.10323 on the Mac with improvements in remote controlling a machine running Lion.
TeamViewer lets you remotely control any computer even through firewalls. It combines various applications in one cost-effective solution that comprises remote support, meeting / presentation software, and remote access.
“TeamViewer connects to any PC or server around the world within a few seconds,” the company states. “You can remote control your partner's PC as if you were sitting right in front of it.”
Version 6.0.10323 for Mac OS X was just announced today. It improves Polish translations, makes the account login work with e-mail addresses and, most importantly for those who plan to use TeamViewer on Lion, “fixes a problem when remote controlling a Mac-OS X 10.7 Beta (Lion),” according to the release notes.
The Mac OS X Lion ‘Beta’ is, of course, TeamViewer’s interpretation of the Apple-specific dubbing ‘Developer Preview.’
A typical beta in all senses, Mac OS X 10.7 Developer Preview 3 is the latest version available from Apple’s Mac Dev Center and likely the one TeamViewer tested their software on.
Further enhancements delivered to the Mac TeamViewer client include tweaks to have the keyboard shortcuts processed correctly in Mac to Mac sessions, and a patch to address an error where Ctrl+Tab would set the focus to the connection toolbar
According to the release notes, more minor improvements and fixes are incorporated in TeamViewer 6.0.10323, but the developers didn’t feel it was necessary to document them all.
