Following the Snow Leopard showcase at WWDC 09, Apple immediately started equipping its developers with new builds of Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard. The latest incremental update to the software, labeled Mac OS X 10.5.8 Build 9L16, asks devs to focus on key areas including AirPort, ColorSync, AppKit, AddressBook, Safari and USB.

As usual, the folks at World of Apple have been quick to provide the seed notes for the latest beta build of OS X Leopard, which reveal just one known issue and around two dozen fixed issues from previous seeds. Particularly, the issue plaguing this early build of Mac OS X 10.5.8 is a missing built-in audio in System Prefs after reboot. Known Issues

For some Mac Pros (early 2009) with USB audio device attached, built-in audio is missing in System Preferences after reboot.

Mac OS X 10.5.8 is the latest incremental update to OS X 10.5 Leopard. The Software update should arrive before Snow Leopard’s official debut in September, although Apple has been known to require more intensive testing occasionally, so its release date cannot be accurately determined.
