Ubisoft's Assassin’s Creed II: Digital Deluxe Edition for Mac OS X is now available as an exclusive pre-order from Macgamestore, bringing an epic story of vengeance in Renaissance Italy, as well as three bonus maps to explore.

Ubisoft promotes the follow-up to the title with a new hero, Ezio Auditore da Firenze (a young Italian noble), the same gameplay experience that made the first installment a resounding success, and a new era - the Renaissance.

“Assassin’s Creed II is an epic story of family, vengeance and conspiracy set in the pristine, yet brutal, backdrop of a Renaissance Italy.”

“Ezio befriends Leonardo da Vinci, takes on Florence’s most powerful families and ventures throughout the canals of Venice where he learns to become a master assassin,” the plot goes.

According to the list of features that make Assassin’s Creed II a game worthy of its name, players will be able to perform missions when they want and how they want in an open-ended environment that brings back free-running and adds elements such as swimming and even flying.

Another key addition is what Ubisoft “dynamic crowds”. Basically, players can now blend in with the crowd easier, while working with in-game characters.

Minimum system requirements include Mac OS X 10.5 / Mac OS X 10.6, Intel Core 2 Duo 3.06 GHz processor, 3GB of memory, a 256 MB graphics card (Dedicated Shader model 3.0 or higher), 9GB of hard drive space, keyboard & mouse, and an internet connection for some features.

However, to ensure a good experience with the game, Ubisoft notes that Mac users should feed Assassin’s Creed II to a Mac based on a Core i5 2.66Ghz CPU, with 4 gigs of RAM, and 512 MB of video memory (Dedicated - ATI Radeon HD 4850 , NVIDIA GeForce GT120 or better).

According to the game’s makers, laptop and integrated versions of these cards may work but are not officially supported.

Assassin's Creed 2: Deluxe Digital Edition is available for pre-order for $34.99. The game is scheduled to launch to the masses an October 4.
