Apple is offering developers the chance to post badges that allow customers to know instantly which languages are supported in a given application, much like the badges offered by Cupertino for iTunes App Store links.

Via News and Announcements for Apple Developers, the Cupertino giant is informing code savvy Mac programmers that Localized ‘Available on the Mac App Store’ Badges are now up for grabs.

Developers can download the graphics from Apple and use it on their website to promote the localization features of the software they sell in the Mac App Store.

“We now offer localized versions of the ‘Available on the Mac App Store’ badge in German, Danish, Spanish, Finnish, French, Italian, Japanese, Dutch, Norwegian, Portuguese, and Swedish,” Apple says.

“Take advantage of these localized badges to ensure your customers know your app is available on the Mac App Store,” the company adds.

Apple encourages Mac Developer Program members to download both English and localized versions of the badge by visiting the Marketing Resources section of its App Store Resource Center.

Designed to make it easier for developers to find details on everything they need to know about distributing apps on the App Store, The App Store Resource Center is the first place to visit to prepare for app submission, as well as to managing an app once it's been posted.

In addition to Marketing Resources, developers also have documentation for areas like preparing for app submission, the app store approval process, app review resources and guidelines, and managing apps on the store.

For iOS developers, all of the above applies, and there’s also the iAd network.

Unlike traditional advertisements, “iAd rich media ads combine the emotion of television with the interactivity of the web to deliver a unique, compelling experience like no other on a mobile device,” according to Apple.
