14 DAY TRIAL // With more than 100 million downloads on Google Play Store, MX Player is one of the most popular video players for Android devices.
Since its release, developers have tried to improve it by adding new features and improvements that would make MX Player even better than the previous version.
The most recent update for MX Player brings a few new options, but also addresses some issues that have been reported by users.
First of all, developers have confirmed they have fixed the broken HW+ decoder on some Android 5.1 devices, an issue that has been affecting the application since the release of the latest version of Google's operating system.
Furthermore, the update should also add support online for subtitle downloading / uploading, which is one of the most requested features by users. It now allows those who watch movies in languages they don't understand to download subtitles on from the web directly on their phones.
Users can now delete or rename files on SD card on Lollipop devices
With the latest version of MX Player, users will be able to define the action for keyboard (DPad) up/down key on Playback screen / Menu / Display / Settings / Touch.
MX Player users can now delete / rename files on external storage on Android 5.0 Lollipop and later. Developers also added an option for disabling “playback interface auto hiding.”
Last but not least, a new option for perform ff/rew on next/prev media buttons on Settings / Player / Next/Prev / FF/Rew has been implemented too.
We expect more details for MX Player for Android to land in Google Play Store in the coming weeks, which will probably bring new options and improvements.
