A new battery powered 3G mobile wireless router has been recently introduced by ZyXEL Communications, a well-known provider of Internet connectivity and network routing products.

Dubbed MWR211, the device offers multiple connectivity options such as wired and 3G wireless Internet access, in addition to 802.11n Wi-Fi.

ZyXEL's new router works using either AC power or its rechargeable battery, which allows users to access the Internet anytime, anywhere, regardless of whether an external power source is available.

Security has been taken care of as well, as the router uses an SPI firewall / anti-DoS attack shield which can be easily configured.

In addition, the router supports an unlimited number of client connections and features data usage alerts to avoid bill overages.

“The market for mobile solutions is experiencing immense growth and we are offering a variety of mobile products for our solution partners to capitalize on this need with innovative solutions,” said Dana Patrick, director of North American channels for ZyXEL.

“We are excited to bring to market the MWR211 and we believe our strategic partnership with Blackstar Networks will provide valuable support and easy product access to our mobile solution partners,” added Patrick.

ZyXEL also announced that it had signed an agreement with Blackstar Networks (BSN), a distribution company focused on wireless mobility products, to support the sales of the MWR211 3G mobile router in the future.

“ZyXEL has a reputation of providing innovative products that build value to their partners,” said Mike Murphy, Blackstar's operations manager.

“ZyXEL's new lines of mobile 3G routers have a great price point for BSN's customer base and applications for wireless products and services,” added Murphy.

The suggested retail price for the MWR211 router is $115 and the device can be purchased starting this week from ZyXEL authorized e-commerce retailers.
