If Samsung’s or Sony’s smartwatches didn't impress you too much, you should know there are plenty of alternatives in Barcelona to be taken into consideration.

Take the Omate TrueSmart Elegance, which is a wrist-wearable device running on Android, that can be used even to make phone calls. Unlike the aesthetically pleasing Creoir Ibis smartwatch I was telling you about yesterday, this isn't a time-keeper with a very “elegant” design after all, sporting a chunky plastic-y look.

The company is under way of releasing its next-gen model, even if the first version hasn't yet been delivered to all pledgers who backed up the project on Kickstarter.

Granted, pledging for a project isn't exactly the same as placing a pre-order, but a bunch of people have been spotted leaving comments on Omate’s Facebook page, complaining the company shouldn't be building the next-gen smartwatch before taking care of delivering the original orders.

Putting that aside, the new Omate TrueSmart Elegance is 30% lighter than the original Stainless Steel and also comes in a variety of fun colors, including black, ping or bronze. The smartwatch has already completed the series of tests imposed by the FCC, so we should see it in the wild, soon enough.
