The device doesn’t impress spec-wise, but if priced affordably it could prove successful

MWC 2014 is under way, and as the day advances, it seems that there’s a trend developing on the grounds in Barcelona, namely 4G.

Chip-makers and manufacturers appear to be racing to unveil 4G capable chips and devices. Alcatel joins the ranks as well, with the new OneTouch POP 7S tablet (via TabletsMagazine).

The main drawing points of this product are the 4G functionality and that the tablet runs on Android 4.4 KitKat out of the box.

The slate has a 7-inch IPS LCD display with an unimpressive resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels and is powered by a Qualcomm quad-core processor clocked at 1.2GHz.

The complete list of specs isn't available yet, but we do know the tablet has dual cameras (3MP on the back and a VGA camera in front), weighs 285 g / 0.62 lbs and is 8.9 mm / 0.3 inches thin.

Judging by the plastic-y look (granted it’s colorful and fun) and the low resolution, the device will probably be targeted at the mid-range market, but Alcatel hasn’t shared that information yet.
