Sony Ericsson revealed at the Mobile World Congress (11 - 14 February) another two new phones, this time from a completely new series of handsets: Sony Ericsson G700 and Sony Ericsson G900, presented as "touchscreen organizers".

Sony Ericsson G700 and G900 are both GSM/GPRS 900/1800/1900 and UMTS 2100 devices that measure 106 x 49 x 13 millimeters (4.2 x 1.9 x 0.5 inches), weigh 99 grams (3.5 oz) and, as the producer says, they're created to "give back time". The phones are designed to organize the lives of consumers with busy schedules, both at work and at home, and are set to become essential business tools by offering an intuitive and simple to use touchscreen interface.

"Sony Ericsson is delivering touchscreen and innovative organizer capabilities to a wide audience without compromising on the size or shape of the phone. Both the G700 and G900 have regular keyboards and are no larger than a regular phone," says Martin Winkler, Director Global Marketing and Head of Multimedia Web at Sony Ericsson. "These phones are ideal for users that are only interested in making their lives simpler. It's not about technology for the sake of it."

Sony Ericsson G700 offers one-touch full organizer functions, touch controlled notes application (that allows you to write and draw memos), a large 2.4 inch display with unique single-touch control menu and a 3.2 Megapixel camera (with image stabilizer, flash and video) that will enable you take good quality pictures.

Sony Ericsson G900 has all the features of the G700 and even more. G900 packs a 5 Megapixel camera with auto focus and multi-shot function that allows you to take print-quality photos and instantly share them with friends and family. Also, G900 brings Wi-Fi connectivity for high speed data transfer and Web surfing. Access all your favorite Web pages and view them on the 2.4 inch display, enjoy the zooming and paning features and get RSS feeds directly on the phone for the hottest news.

Both Sony Ericsson G700 and G900 pack many other appealing features, including Media player, Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP, TrackID, Picture editor, Handwriting recognition and microSD card support for extended memory.

The new Sony Ericsson phones from the G series will be available from Q2 2008, the G700 in Silk Bronze and the G900 in Dark Red and Dark Brown. The retail prices have not been disclosed yet.
