GSmart, the mobile phone brand owned by Gigabyte Communications Inc., announced at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain (11 - 14 February), the introduction of new slim 3.5G GPS PDAs that feature built-in Garmin Mobile XT navigation. The new devices combine the advantages of 3.5G high-speed networks, built-in GPS and the highly-appreciated Garmin map data, and are set to amaze European mobile consumers with their style and innovation.

Following the positive feedback of the first collaboration with Garmin (the launch of i350, the first GPS PDA phone with Garmin Mobile XT), GSmart demonstrates again its innovative value by coming with new Garmin-enabled handsets.

The sales volume of GPS and related products is constantly growing, all over the world, showing that there's a high demand for such products. GPS will soon become a default feature in mobile devices, and GSmart wants to offer even more, by implementing features like GPS tracking and GeoTagging photos into its new MW700 and MS800 handsets. Leveraging on Garmin's excellent reputation in map data and user friendliness, GSmart will be able to offer users the most reliable map data and navigation features.

GSmart MW700 and MS800 GPS phones with Garmin Mobile XT navigation will be available in Europe during 2008, for retail prices that have not been disclosed yet. The first countries to get the handsets will be Italy, Spain and France.

"We are offering GSmart devices with Garmin not only because Garmin is the world's leading brand in professional navigation systems, but also because its powerful map engine and user-friendliness has made it popular among users," said Dr. Stanley Jenq, Chief Executive Officer of Gigabyte Communications.

Garmin is a global leader in GPS technology and it recently announced it will launch its own mobile phone, the nuvifone, a fully-featured stylish and slim handset that combines high-end phone functionality with advanced personal navigation features.
