The 2014 MTV Movie Awards just got a little better! An official announcement was made, stating that this year, the show would be hosted by TV funny-man and everyone's favorite ginger, Conan O'Brien.

The TV personality is going to headline the show that is taking place on Sunday, April 13 at the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles.

Though not his first hosting stint, since he's already done the Primetime Emmy Awards back in 2002 and then later in 2006, this will actually be the first time O'Brien does the MTV Movie Awards.

Making fun of the whole situation, O'Brien said on his show that “After eight years of intense negations, I am honored to announce I am hosting MTV's second most prestigious awards show,” according to Hitfix.

Some of the past presenters for this awards ceremony include other comedians such as Jimmy Fallon, also a talk show host, Aziz Ansari, Russell Brand and Sarah Silverman. Last year, it was the turn of Rebel Wilson to act as the master of ceremony.

The MTV Awards are generally regarded as a light-hearted version of more serious awards show, focused more on the preferences of the younger generation. Though not as serious as, say, the Oscars, the show still provides some very entertaining moments, as many celebrities often feel free to let their hair down and become prone to more outrageous acts.

This year, the ceremony boasts that it will also feature some sneak previews from the summer's most anticipated films, with never-before-seen footage, giving fans an extra reason to tune in. The nominations for the 2014 MTV Movie Awards will be announced tomorrow, on March 6.
