Robert Pattinson presents Reese Witherspoon with Generation Award at MTV Movie Awards, drops F-bomb

At the MTV Movie Awards 2011, Reese Witherspoon was honored with the Generation Award, celebrating her work in film and with charity foundations throughout the years. The best part of the introduction speech she got was Robert Pattinson’s “ad lib” bit.

Patrick Dempsey, Pattinson and Chelsea Handler were the three stars MTV picked to hand Reese her generation award but, somewhat surprisingly, it was Robert’s bit that was the funniest – and which needed to be bleeped out as well, as the video below will confirm.

Dempsey kept it clean in his presentation of Reese’s career, rounding up his speech with a mention of her charitable work with the Avon Foundation.

Presumably, this was Robert’s cue but, if it was, he didn’t know about it. “I’m supposed to talk about the Avon thing?!” the British actor said, obviously a bit nervous.

He then proceeded to take out a piece of paper from his pocket because the prompter read he should “ad lib” to the presentation.

Robert began by recalling how he got his first part in movies as Reese’s son in “Vanity Fair” in a scene that didn’t make the cut – because of Reese, the British actor joked.

“Seven years later, we did another movie together, called ‘Water for Elephants.’ But I didn’t kick you out of it,” Pattinson added, laughing. “But I did [expletive] you,” he added.

Producers weren’t expecting this and, in the live transmission, the F-word was bleeped out with a small delay, which meant everybody got to hear it.

As it happens, Robert wasn’t done yet: he continued his presentation of Reese saying she could hardly say her lines when she was wearing a girdle, hinted she drank tequila like she ate Lays chips (“you can never stop at one”) and pointed out that she was “33 percent lesbian.”

No wonder Handler said “Wow, this a tough act to follow” when he was done: it’s usually her job to be bleeped out a movie awards.
