Justin Bieber may be one of the most popular and successful pop artists of the day, but he’s also got one foot through the door in the movie industry. He just picked up his first award for the documentary “Never Say Never” at the MTV Movie Awards 2011.

Though he wasn’t initially supposed to be present to accept his award (or, at least, that’s the impression fans were left with during the introduction), Justin made a surprise appearance, as the video below will show.

Justin beat some tough competition from Oscar-winning “Black Swan,” critically acclaimed “Inception,” “Jackass 3D” and “127 Hours” in nabbing the award for Best Jaw-Dropping Moment with “Never Say Never 3D.”

Since fans were the ones that voted for The Biebs, they were ecstatic when his name was called out as the winner – but even more so when they saw him walk on stage.

Dressed in a blue jacket, with black shades on, and rocking new earrings (one in each ear), Justin made it a point in his speech that the only reason he was there was because he wanted to show fans that he appreciated their never-dying love and support.

“Thank you so much, I couldn’t let down my fans and not come here,” he said to loud cheering and applause from the crowd.

“I wanna thank everybody, I wanna thank Jon Chu the director, Scooter Braun, my family but most of all, I wanna thank my fans… I love you,” he added.

Another first-time surprise winner at last night’s awards show was Chloe Grace Moretz, who scooped up two awards for her role as Hit Girl in the box office hit “Kick-Ass.”

In the Best Breakout Star category, she too faced fierce competition from the likes of Andrew Garfield (in “The Social Network”), Hailee Steinfeld (“True Grit”), Olivia Wilde (“TRON: Legacy”), Xavier Samuel (“The Twilight Saga: Eclipse”) and Jay Chou (“The Green Hornet”).
