British actor Robert Pattinson is what one might call a “sight for sore eyes,” especially given his known adversity for all things media. Because of this, the few interviews that he gives or appearances that he puts up, even for promotional purposes, are like manna for true fans. On this note, these fans will be happy to hear that Pattinson will make an appearance on MTV on October 30, ShowbizSpy can confirm.

The usually shy actor has agreed to take part in an MTV special on the occasion of the upcoming release of “New Moon,” the second installment in the vampire franchise that deals with the beautiful love story of a mortal girl (Kristen Stewart) and a gorgeous and brooding vampire with a heart (Pattinson). The exact extent of the star’s contribution is not yet known, but, seeing how it’s not that much to go until the appearance, details on this will probably surface in the following days.

“Robert Pattinson is set to make an appearance on MTV, it has been confirmed. The hunky actor will appear on ‘MTV Ulalume: Howling at New Moon’ on October 30. It’s all part of the promotional push for the ‘Twilight’ movie sequel, which hits theaters November 20.” ShowbizSpy writes of the upcoming appearance. As noted above, this is about everything fans have right now but, as they say, it’s better than nothing.

In other “New Moon” news, the iconic music magazine Rolling Stone reviewed the soundtrack album and went to say it was perfect, both when seen as part of a larger whole, meaning as a companion to the film, and as a standalone studio material. Even more than this, by following the story outlined with each track on it, the “New Moon” soundtrack can be seen as a symbol of today’s cultural values and how love, especially if deemed impossible at first, will always have the final say.

“It’s a shame John Hughes didn’t live to hear the ‘New Moon’ soundtrack – it’s a ‘Pretty in Pink’ for our vampire-crazed times. Indeed, if Hughes were making a ‘Breakfast Club’ 2010, Molly Ringwald’s detention buddies would have to include a vampire, a zombie, a werewolf and whatever Judd Nelson was. As any goth girl can tell you, undead dudes are way cooler than the flesh-and-blood kind. The genius of the ‘Twilight’ saga is the way it celebrates the passion of the all-American fang hag, with Robert Pattinson as the perfect plasma-slurping pinup boy […]. So ‘New Moon’ is a movie soundtrack, but it’s also a concept album about the bond between teenage girls and their imaginary bloodsucker boyfriends.” RS writes in the review in question.
