Virtual Earth is the biggest advantage

After the search engines have taught us for years that we can find anything anywhere in a matter of seconds, now, the time has come for MSN Local Search or for Google Local to show us where the closest pizza house or the best flower shop is.

The expansion of cell phones and their transformation into Internet searching terminals are forcing MSN, Google and Yahoo to start thinking locally. For this kind of services the giants are not only capable of satisfying the user's desires who got used to Search everything, but also to attract advertising from local companies which are only interested in local promoting.

The fierce battle for a better spot under the sun of searches will determine MSN associate as soon as possible MSN Local Search with mobile phones and with Virtual Earth type services.

For local companies, the chance of being advertised for an affordable fee is an important benefit and it's likely that Local Search features will become more important than global searches.

But when you have three major competitors on the same market, the winner will be the one which integrates the best services. If MSN implements Virtual Earth (a service which has a much greater potential compared to the competition's) into Local Search, then we might have a new leader on the search engine market.
