With the rise of the CULV processing platforms from Intel, computer manufacturers are releasing new platforms, components and systems designed to work with or be based on them. MSI naturally did not wait very long before strategically launching its own series of notebooks PCs. The new entries in the company's award-winning X-Slim series are the 13" X350 and X360, 14" X420, and 15.6" X600Pro.

All the laptops use the low-voltage CULV platform and Intel Core 2 Duo Central Processing Units. The result of the joining between this platform and a refined, slim exterior are “forward thinking and fashionable technology products.” The design of the new ultra-thins includes a Chiclet keyboard, inlaid metal around the frame and all-new Color Film Print coating.

The urban, trendy, 14-inch X420 X-Slim model is a lively, cappuccino brown-colored, ultra-thin laptop with an urban theme. It is powered by an Intel Core 2 Duo processor and uses the ATi Mobility Radeon HD 5430 discrete graphics card with 1GB DDR3 VRAM. Furthermore, the laptop features MSI's exclusive 3D Boost technology. The X420 has support for 3G and WiMAX, thus enabling wireless connectivity and mobile operating efficiency at all times. Not only that, but the stylish exterior and exquisite feel will surely appeal to any mobile-computing enthusiast. The X420 X-Slim has a nine-hour battery life.

The X-Slim X350 & X360 are also making their debut at CES this year. Both laptops use the aforementioned CULV platform, last for up to nine hours on battery and are under one inch thick. They weigh less than 1.5kg and have an exterior design with geometric patterns made of shaped lines and diamond shapes.

This design extends to the hand-placement areas and the four sides feature the aforementioned high-tech metal inlay in the frame and its glimmering silver integrates with the LED indicator light group, chrome-plated power button, MSI's distinctive Chiclet keyboard and even the touch pad frame. These two laptops create “a harmony in anticipation of the golden ratio of upcoming fashion trends” and, MSI says, “will once again raise the MSI X-Slim Series to the summit of stylish technology at CES 2010.”

Last, but definitely not least, come the X620 and X600Pro. The X620 has already been presented with the German iF Product Design Award and both it and the X600Pro combine the might of the Intel Dual Core CULV processors with that of ATi Mobility Radeon HD Discrete graphics cards. These 15.6-inch, ultra-thin notebooks are designed with 16:9 cinematic LED-backlit displays and are capable of HD graphics. The X620 even features 3D, with this mode being enabled through a push of the unique 3D Boost button. Not only that, but both models even feature a battery life of up to ten hours.

The X-Slim X620 is equipped with a 2-Spindle optical drive and an eight-cell battery, giving it a total weight of 2.4kg. The hand-placement areas are treated with a special material and the special metal inlay on all four sides gives the product a high-tech feel. Even the Chiclet keyboard has a “ simple, graceful styling” and smooth contours.

The exhibition will last until Jan 10 at the Las Vegas Convention Center South Hall 3, Las Vegas, Booth no : 30651.
