Micro-Star International may have allowed a certain machine to be revealed not too long ago, but the newest official announcement on its part deals with something else, namely a pair of Sandy Bridge machines.

One thing that users from around the world may have found out yesterday is that MSI is one of the companies that will keep backing the AMD Fusion APU line.

This is because a certain laptop was uncovered, one that features the A-450 APU, which hasn't actually been officially launched yet.

Now, Micro-Star International has selected some Intel chips to base its X-Slim series duo on, from the Sandy Bridge series.

The newcomers are called X460 and X460DX and feature the 2.0 GHz Core i7-2630QM and the 2.1 GHz Core i3-2310M (or 2.3 GHz Core i5-2410M), respectively.

The former adds a 750 GB HDD as part of the configuration, along with WiDi 2.0 support and Windows 7 Professional 64 bit, while the latter has 500 GB storage and the GeForce GT 540M 1 GB discrete graphics (it runs Windows 7 home Premium 64 bit).

Both computers have USB 3.0, WiFi, Bluetooth 3.0, up to 6 GB of RAM, HD LED screens and DVD writers, plus D-sub, HDMI, 4-in-1 card readers, THX TruStudio Pro and battery life of 8 hours.

"The X460 and X460DX takes our current X Series to another level, shrinking the power and performance of a larger notebook into a mobile unit with exceptional battery life," said Andy Tung, Vice President of Sales for MSI US.

"Crafted with the mobile professional in mind, these units feature a sleek design that reflects MSI's pursuit for innovation and style."

The MSI X460 is already listed on Amazon, for the price of $1,099.99, while the X640DX has a price of $749.99.

"The MSI X460 model featuring the latest Intel Core processors and Wireless Display technology effectively addresses the needs of the mobile professional, giving them superior performance and easy connectivity," said Joe Van de Water, Product Marketing Manager at Intel.
