Fans still have to wait a bit longer for MSI's netbook

Countless users have expressed their desire to acquire one of MSI's new Atom-powered Wind netbooks but, unfortunately for them, these computers have just been delayed a bit. Oh, and yes, this is yet another delay of the highly anticipated MSI product. As some of you might remember, the Wind was expected to drop on June 21, after it had been pushed back once more, of course. However, the June 27 seems to be a date that best suits the Taiwanese manufacturer.

At this year's Computex show in Taipei, Taiwan, MSI managed to create quite a buzz at its booth. One of the reasons for all the hype was the company's new netbook product, about which people had been talking and writing long before the company finally decided to give the official treatment to the Wind. Given all this, everybody expected, and probably still is expecting, MSI's product to be the best alternative to ASUS' own Eee PC, which is the main reason why we can now talk about a netbook market. As far as competition goes, the Wind is said to be better than the Eee PC, at least from an aesthetic point of view.

Unfortunately for netbook fans, both the MSI Wind and the ASUS Eee PC have one major issue that is keeping the two Taiwanese manufacturers from shipping the devices. And this issue has something to do with the leading manufacturer of computer processors, which provides the computing solution for both netbooks. As most of you already know, the Eee PC and the Wind are powered by one of Intel's recently released products, the Intel Atom CPU, that Intel can't mass produce until September 2008.

Currently, users can find the MSI Wind 10-inch Mini Laptop at Amazon.com, but the product doesn't have any price tag attached to it, or arrival date, for that matter. Those interested in it can choose to be notified when the Wind becomes available but, other than that, your only option is to stare at the pictures and hope MSI won't delay the product any further than it already has.
