Back in January, we told you MSI took its GS70 gaming laptop, said to be the “world’s thinnest 17-inch gaming notebook” and renamed it, calling it GS Stealth, adding a few new specs in the process. But now MSI announced a new enhanced version of the January model.

After updating several of its laptops with the latest NVIDIA GPU standard, MSI is applying the same treatment to the GS70 Stealth.

MSI gaming notebooks are the top choice for hardcore gamers looking for extreme performance, so with this purpose in mind MSI has packed the laptop with high performance 4th generation Intel Core i7-4700HQ quad-core processor.

On top of that, MSI has slipped in the latest NVIDIA GeForce GTX 870M graphics card (based on the high-end Kepler architecture) combined with 3GB of DDR5 VRAM. The company notes the 3D Mark 11 Performance test shows the new GPU is 35% faster than the previous GTX 770M card.

The above-mentioned CPU has a base frequency of 2.4GHz which can be overclocked with Turbo Boost up to 3.4GHz. This combined with the latest GPU enables users to enjoy more FPS, improved visuals and cinematic effect.

The new laptop bundles the latest online streaming software, the XSplit Gamecaster, a system which allows users to record their game-play and stream it further beyond via Twitch, YouTube, UStream and more.

Furthermore, MSI offers the Steelseries Engine which invites players to “create their own game style,” a feature you’re not going to find in other laptops, except MSI ones that have a SteelSeries keyboard.

MSI’s own Super RAID 2 technology is also employed here, packing 3 SSD’s with M.2 interface, with access speeds as high as 1350 MB/s to more than 1500MB/s (which is said to be 3 times faster than high performance single SSD notebooks coming from other brands).

MSI claims the laptop is not only perfect for gaming use, but for multimedia as well. For example, there’s the Audio Boost technology packed in the midst of the notebook which comes with AMP (Audio Power Amplifier) a system capable of bringing about enhanced headphone performance and wrapped around sound.

The manufacturer says all jacks are gold plated, since gold is the best conductive material and does not oxidize. The CoolerBoost 2 technology keeps noise levels to a minimum, while maintaining an overall cool temperature.

Pricing and availability for the new MSI GS70 Stealth haven’t been disclosed, so far.
