This year's edition of the CeBIT expo is steadily approaching and consumers are undoubtedly looking forward to the new hardware releases. Indeed, some of the devices scheduled to be showcased at the show have already been previewed by their manufacturers, as it is the case with MSI's upcoming all-in-one desktops from the Wind Top product family. Out of those products, the 3D-capable all-in-one is bound to attract attention, but Micro-Star International is not going to limit itself to just those few computers. The company has unwrapped the GT660 gaming laptop.

The PC maker designed its upcoming gaming mobile PC with high-tier performance. Unfortunately, the company did not disclose much in the way of specifications, but it did unveil the type of computing and graphics resources that the laptop came with.

Strong processing power is enabled by a quad-core Intel Core i7 central processing unit and external storage units will be able to communicate with the system at high speeds thanks to the built-in USB 3.0 ports. MSI chose not to implement DirectX 11 graphics into this machine, but it used, instead, the high-performance 1GB GDDR3 GeForce GTX 285M card developed by NVIDIA.

MSI also stated that the GT660 came with built-in high-end sound capabilities, for the ultimate enjoyment of all types of games and media files, be they music or videos. “To meet your need for high fidelity, MSI worked closely with a leader in sound system design, raising the bar in notebook sound systems. They completely overhauled the speaker circuits and housing structures traditionally found in laptops to give the GT660 crisper, more faithful sound. Even more exciting, the GT660 is equipped with LED light display technology, so whether you’re listening to music, watching a film, or engrossed in a video game, the LED light display technology helps maximize your experience,” the press release states.

The GT660 gaming notebook is sheathed in a rich, glossy color film print that protects the machine from fingerprints and wear in order to preserve its elegant look. No prices or other specific details are available at this time, but the company promises to go into more detail at the expo.
