While come companies are unleashing less ordinary, rugged systems, Micro-Star International decided to deliver a pair of new multimedia laptops, the so-called FX700 and FR700, both of which run Windows 7 Home Premium.

As one would expect, the two new laptops that MSI has come up with are powered by the Intel mobile platform.

In this case, the computers have their configurations built around an Intel Core i5 central processing unit.

Said CPU is backed up by a fairly high memory capacity, of up to 8 GB to be exact, while the necessary video rendering capabilities are provided through different means.

In the case of the FR700, the Intel HD integrated graphics are left to do all the work, while the FX700 features the GeForce GT 425M discrete card.

For those interested in a reminder, the GeForce GT 425M is one of NVIDIA's Fermi-based mobile graphics solutions with support for DirectX 11.

There is also a DVD writer on both models, as well as a 5-in-1 card reader and, of course, a hard disk drive, whose internal capacity can be of 320 GB, 500 GB or 640 GB.

What's more, both newcomers are equipped with Gigabit Ethernet, Bluetooth 2.1, 802.11 b/g/n WiFi, 4-channel speakers and even two USB 3.0 ports, plus chiclet keyboards and raised, multipoint touchpads,

All of these parts and chips, along with 6-Cell Li-Ion batteries, are crammed inside casings that feature their maker's anti-smudge raised totem seal coating technology. The total weight is of 2.8 kg.

As for the displays themselves, they measure 17.3 inches in diagonal, use LED backlighting and boast the 16:9 cinematic aspect ratio.

Finally, MSI threw in the TDE (Turbo Drive Engine) technology, as well as Cinema Pro. Both newcomers can be seen in detail here but, unfortunately, have not yet been given prices.
