After MWC 2014, all eyes in tech are upon CeBIT, the world’s largest international computer expo that's currently underway in Germany. As expected, device manufacturers unveiled new products on the grounds and one of them was gaming mobile solution provider, MSI.

The company is showing a new, extremely light laptop powered by an Intel Haswell processor. If laptops powered by Intel’s 4th gen chip architecture aren't exactly novelty anymore, listen to what else is there, in terms of specifications.

According to Engadget, MSI’s new lappy taunts a resolution you don’t often see in machines like this, 2880 x 1620 pixels on a 15.6-inch display to be more precise, something the company calls a “3K” display.

The laptop goes by the name of MSI GS60 Ghost Pro and a device running on one of NVIDIA unannounced 2014 laptop GPUs. The exact specifics regarding the new graphics card weren't revealed, but one can guess the product is based on the NVIDIA Maxwell architecture. Ghost is also said to be able to handle the latest games running on high settings.

The machine could easily qualify as an Ultrabook, as it weighs only 1.99 kg / 4.4 pounds and is just 19.5 mm / 0.7 inches. At the same event, Samsung introduced its own Ultrabook offering, the ATIV Book 9 Style which comes with a faux-leather design. Sammy’s laptop weighs 1.95 kg / 4.3 pounds, so it is comparable to the MSI laptop.

Nevertheless, it’s pretty amazing MSI manages to pack all that power and performance and keep the machine so low-weight. On top of the Intel Core i7 processor, the Ghost Pro also bundles a dual solid state drive and a hard drive bay, in order to offer a large amount of super-fast storage space.

Other highlights of the laptop include 802.11ac Wi-Fi, a hefty 16GB of RAM and Blu-ray writer. On top of that, there’s a SteelSeries gaming keyboard that offers a full range of color options that can be customized depending on the user’s choice.

The MSI GS60 is an extended line, which includes multiple models, each with a different set of graphics cards and screen resolutions (that starts up from full HD). The new model with 3K display and next-gen NVIDIA graphics will probably arrive on the market somewhere around April and will sell for a hefty $2,000 / €1,440.

Some models from the MSI GS60 family (the one with full HD resolution option) are already available for pre-order, so if you have some money stored up, take a look.
