MSI has slowly started to attract the attention of consumers everywhere with its innovative laptops and the product it just rolled out surely deserves the spotlight.

Just before Christmas, MSI pulls the veil off its new S12/S12T notebook that comes bundled with ADM’s Kabini APU, a microprocessor designed to act as a CPU and graphics accelerator solution on a single chip. On top of that, the producing company offers the device with Windows 8 and a 10-point touch screen to complement the experience.

Vice President of Global Sales and Marketing for MSI, Eric Kuo explained why such a laptop was needed on the market.

“As a result of the booming competition in the laptop market, there has been an increasing number of light-designed machines, so users are demanding more in terms of hardware, functions and other design features specifically for daily work purpose and casual life.”

“MSI has heard their desire and has responded with numerous breakthroughs and innovations. The result has been in slim and light laptops with the latest processor and touch panel on the market, most advanced and rich array of helpful features and better user-friendly experience.”

The S12/S12T allows users to opt between an E1-2100 duo-core or a super powerful A4-5000 quad-core series APU. The manufacturer says Kabini APU has been designed by ADM to provide a longer life span for laptops, so users can carry out their work without having to stop for a quick charge.

MSI says that battery should last for up to 5 hours of office work and 4 hours of HD video playback, but this is quite disappointing when you compare it with recent offerings like the Toshiba Dynabook KIRA said to be able to last up to 22 hours.

The laptop also brings support for DirectX 11 embedded in the Radeon HD 8330/HD8210 core to boost overall graphic performance.

S12/S12T features an 11.6-inch display with a resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels. MSI provides a 500GB HDD with the bundle and customers will find USB 3.0/USB 2.0, Wi-Fi 802 11 b/g/n and HDMI out, on board. Pricing options haven’t made been available, at this moment.
