MSI has been active on the mobile DirectX 11 market recently, having announced the imminent availability of two ATI Mobility Radeon HD 58xx-enabled gaming notebooks in Europe. Even more recently, however, the company has revealed that it has finished putting together a new gaming model, known as the GE600 notebook, which combines the advanced performance features of 32nm Intel chips and AMD graphics with exclusive technologies, for a seamless merger of both power and efficiency.

Based on 32nm Intel Core i5 central processing units (CPUs), the gaming mobile PC is equipped with the ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5730. This card has 1GB of DDR3 VRAM and will deliver the best-in-class video output capabilities to the 16-inch liquid crystal display (LCD). The laptop also comes with a hard drive (whose storage capacity can be of 250GB, 320GB or 500GB), a 4-in-1 card reader, a 720p HD webcam, 7.1 channel audio, Ethernet, WiFi and Bluetooth.

To optimize the performance and power efficiency of its latest gaming machine, MSI has also added the benefits of its own GPU Boost and ECO Engine technologies. The GPU Boost technology provides the user with a special key that, when pressed, enables the discrete graphics card. When a long battery life is preferred, users only need to press the Battery icon key, at which point the laptop will switch to the integrated graphics. Power efficiency can even be further enhanced by making use of the five system scenario modes (video, gaming, film, presentation and Turbo Battery) provided by the ECO Engine Power Saving Technology.

The PC maker also implemented SRS Premium Sound audio, two integrated cinema speakers and a subwoofer at the bottom, as well as the Cinema Pro technology, which enhances image quality. As for the actual design, the notebook uses a black coating and a golden palm rest, measures 374 x 246 x 26.8 mm and weighs 2.7 kg.

The MSI GE600 gaming notebook runs the Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium OS. Unfortunately, the press release does not mention the product's price and availability.
