We're quite sure that 2011 will be a very interesting year as far as the market penetration of AMD's APUs (accelerated processing units) are concerned, and the first rumors regarding products built on this platform are already starting to make their way online, the latest we've come across being related to a portable computing system from MSI, dubbed CR 650. As TC Magazine reports, the CR650 notebook will belong to MSI's already famous ClassicSeries, and will come in a 15.6-inch form factor.

However, what will really make this thing stand out from the crowd will be the E-350 APU unit (better known as Zacate), pertaining to AMD's Fusion Brazos family, that features two Bobcat x86 cores @ 1.6 GHz and the Radeon HD 6310 graphics core ( 80 Stream Processors).

Other details available for the MSI notebook for the time being include the presence of a built-in HD camera, as well as a Color Film Print black coating.

We'll also have to add that, from what AMD has told us, over time, regarding the Fusion APUs in general and the Zacate and Ontario platforms in particular, it's quite likely that the MSI machine will offer users a very long battery life, clearly superior to what you can expect from most current-generation netbooks and notebooks (unfortunately, we're not allowed yet to offer any official figures as far as battery life is concerned, but we promise to do that as soon as the NDA on these details is lifted).

Unfortunately, there's not much to tell as far as the estimated pricing and availability of the Zacate-equipped machine is concerned, but, without a doubt, MSI will officially unveil this thing over the course of 2010 (we really hope to see a CES launch, but we'll have to wait a bit longer in order to see what's what).
