MSI, one of the world's leading vendors of motherboards, graphics cards, notebooks and other computing products, has just announced the expansion of its graphics card offering with the introduction of yet another Radeon-based lineup. The new models make use of the latest high-performance single-GPU solution from AMD, the Radeon HD 4890, providing users with as much as 1GB of GDDR5 memory and a GPU speed as high as 1GHz. The new series was already showcased earlier this year at the Computex computer show in Taipei, Taiwan.

The new Cyclone lineup from MSI comes to provide graphics and overclocking enthusiasts with a high-end graphics solution that has been equipped with dual-slot, single-fan cooling. According to the Taiwanese vendor, the new cards will boast a 10cm PWM fan, which is said to be the biggest on any Radeon HD 4890 card currently available on the market. The larger design of the fan, in combination with the integration of four heat pipes (which are 60% thicker than traditional ones, according to MSI), will enable the Cyclone cooler to provide users with an efficient cooling solution for the high-end GPU.

As far as technical specifications go, the new cards will provide users with the performance level of AMD's current Radeon flagship model, the HD 4890. The Cyclone R4890 OC edition will be made available with an 880MHz core speed, coupled with 1GB of GDDR5 memory that boasts a frequency of 3900MHz. As with other Radeon GPUs, this card can offer users support for Microsoft's DirectX 10.1, CrossFireX multi-GPU setups, ATI Avivo HD technology, ATI Stream technology and PCI Express 2.0 support.

Unfortunately, there are no details related to the card's pricing and availability, but the new series should soon make its way towards the shelves of retailers worldwide.
