The launch of Intel's P55 mainstream platform has enabled the majority of motherboard manufacturers to update their portfolios with new products, specifically designed to provide consumers with support for the chip maker's latest LGA 1156-compatible Core i7 and Core i5 processors. Such is the case with Taiwanese motherboard maker MSI, which has recently announced the formal introduction of its new Big Bang Trinergy series of motherboards, based on the aforementioned Intel P55 chipset. Aside from the support delivered for the latest Intel processors, the new motherboard also comes with a number of proprietary features, specifically designed to provide end-user with support for a high-end desktop system.

A quick look at the system's specifications will reveal that the board has been featured with a mix of Intel's P55 chipset, coupled with NVIDIA's own NF200 chip, thus enabling users to take advantage of a high-quality visual experience, with support for up to three PCI-Express graphics cards, working in either SLI or CrossFireX configuration. The board also comes with four DDR3 and dual-channel memory DIMMs, enabling users to install up to 16GB of memory, which can be coupled with one of Intel's LGA1156-compatible Core i5 or Core i7 processors.

While no USB 3.0 or SATA 6Gb/s ports have been made available, the board offers the traditional connectors, namely ten SATA 3.0Gbps and two eSATA ports. There's also dual-Gigabit connectivity, V-Check points, Power, Reset, Green Power, and Clear CMOS buttons, as well as a FireWire connector. Among the unique features that have been enabled on the board, MSI has highlighted the use of 100% Hi-C Caps, the integrations of the QuantamWave audio processing with THX TruStudio PC and Creative EAX ADVANCED HD 5.0 audio solution. For overclocking enthusiasts, the board has been featured with the SuperPipe cooling technology, OC Genie and OC Dash Board solution.

Unfortunately, we have no details on the board's pricing and availability, but when it comes out the new Big Bang Trinergy motherboard should prove a noteworthy choice for computer enthusiasts.
