Micro-Star International has long been a supplier of many sort of hardware products, and it looks like this once has it looking at the mainboard segment, although what the rest of the world is allowed to see is not the complete picture.

The 2011 edition of the Computex electronics show is coming near, so it is obvious that IT players from around the world are going to be more active than usual.

In fact, companies already are showing signs of extra activity, although not necessarily in any direct way, as Zotac proved just a short time ago.

Either way, a whole bunch of new electronics and hardware components are going to be launched soon, some of which have become the subject of reports.

Turns out that MSI chose to provide some teaser pictures of a certain motherboard instead of having something inadvertently leak out.

The product in question is a motherboard powered by the AMD 990FX chipset, although none of the photos show it in its entirety.

The newcomer is named 990FXA-GD65 and two PCI Express x16 slots, four PCI Express x1 slots and a legacy PCI slot.

In other words, it should be easy to set up dual-card graphics configurations, provided one doesn't need the PCI slot for anything.

As far as memory goes, nothing certain can be gleamed, since the pictures don't show that side of the motherboard. This goes for the I/O layout as well, since the back panel remains a mystery.

Fortunately, they do include the six SATA 6.0 Gbps ports, as well as a Renesas USB 3.0 controller chip and 10-phase power regulation.

All in all, the 990FX-GD65 is shaping up to be quite the beast, although users will have to wait until Computex 2011 comes around to actually get a full rundown of the specifications and what price they will have to meet.
