Cashbacks are great fun, payments paid back to customers in percentages of what the price of their newly acquired products happen to be. Maybe that is why MSI decided to offer them as incentive now.

NVIDIA recently released the GeForce GTX 960 graphics card, which means that its various OEMs did the same with their models. Especially since there was no interdiction on customizations or factory overclocking this time.

Micro-Star International doesn't want to just rely on consumers' natural willingness to buy its products though. Especially with all the competition out there.

So it has decided to go with an incentive program: buy a product bundle and you'll get some of your money back.

Cashbacks offered to buyers of MOBO+GFX bundles

A new promotion from MSI is running in Europe, in 20 countries to be exact: Poland, Slovakia, Switzerland, Czech Republic, Spain, Italy, Austria, Russia, Ukraine, Turkey, Luxemburg, Netherlands, Sweden, Finland, Norway, Denmark, UK, Germany, Belgium and France.

The promo started on February 10 but will last throughout the entire month, as well as most of the first half of March.

Between those dates, if you buy an MSI motherboard and a GeForce GTX 900 or R9 290 / 290X series graphics card from MSI, you can get up to €50 back from your purchase ($57, give or take).

Not all motherboards are included in the promotion, since this is something exclusively for the high end, but the number is still significant.

More specifically, all mainboards in the MSI Z97 GAMING line-up are part of the deal, along with the full range of X99 chipset-based models and the Z97S SLI Krait Edition, plus some of the H97 models.

Pricing

You'll have to check with your local retailers for those, since shipping costs, stock levels and demand are different from region to region.

Suffice to say, if you make a product bundle including an MSI mainboard and one of the GTX 970, GTX 980 and GTX 970 adapters, or the R9 290 or 290X, you'll get paid something back for taking the plunge. Let's just hope no one does any artificial price inflating in the background. See here for more details on the MSI Cashback program.
