Wind Top AE2420 described as world's first high-performance 3D AiO

IT companies of all kinds, whether hardware makers, PC suppliers or foundries, enjoy it when they can describe one of their products as being the 'world's first' to achieve this or that feat. As such, that Micro-Star International would be eager to say something like this about one of its newest creations is not at all surprising. To be more specific, MSI claims that the Wind Top AE2420, its new 3D AiO PC, is the “world's first high-performance 3D All-in-One PC.” The utter vagueness of that statement aside, the machine does, at least, look like it packs some serious horsepower.

The biggest issue with AiO systems is that they don't exactly have much room for cooling, which is why they don't often match the performance of full desktops, especially knowing how much more expensive they are than the latter. Still, the AE2420, at the very least, comes close, more or less, though its price has not yet been mentioned.

The system configuration is centered around an Intel Core i5 650 central processing unit, with a clock speed of 3.2 GHz. This CPU is backed up by 4GB of RAM and is paired with an ATI mobility Radeon HD 5730 graphics card. This video solution has 1GB of memory and support for DirectX 11, which makes the Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels resolution), 23.6-inch LCD panel all the more intriguing.

The AiO even features 1TB of storage space and a Blu-ray optical drive. As such, it can be assumed that end-users multimedia and even gaming needs won't be left untended.

Naturally, MSI made a point of providing all the necessary connectivity and I/O options, including the obvious Gigabit Ethernet, Bluetooth, a 1.3 megapixel webcam, 802.11 b/g/n WiFi, an optional TV tuner, a pair of 5W speakers, a 10W subwoofer and even USB 3.0 ports and a 6-in-1 card reader.
