Later this moth, Nvidia will release its third GPU in the 500-series of graphics cards, the GTX 560, and MSI is supposed to welcome this card with open arms as the company plans to launch quite a few models based on the new core, including the factory overclocked GTX 560 Ti Twin Frozr II.

Traditionally, Twin Frozer designs have featured improved cooling and better acoustics, and this seems to be also the case with the GTX 560 Ti Twin Frozr II.

Early reports suggest the card packs two 80mm PWM fans set on top of an aluminum heatsink, five heatpipes driving the heat away from the GF114 graphics core.

As I am sure that you know by now, the GP114 GPU used inside the GTX 560, features 384 CUDA cores, 32 ROP units, and 1GB of GDDR5 memory clocked at 1GHz (4000MHz effective) connected to the GPU via a 256-bit bus interface.

The standard GTX 560 core is going to be clocked at 820MHz, but MSI will most certainly change this value for the Twin Frozr II.

Recently, the very first benchmarks of the GTX 560 were leaked to the Web, and the results show that Nvidia's card is up to par with AMD's Radeon HD 6950.

When compared to other graphics solutions, the GTX 560 turned out to be as much as 27% faster than the Radeon HD 6870, about 14% better in average than the GTX 470 and 24% faster than the GTX 460.

Meant to take on the Radeon HD 6950 as well as the upcoming 1GB versions of the HD 6950 and HD 6970, the GTX 560 will be officially launched on January 25 for about $280 US.

The N560GTX-Ti Twin Frozr II/OC is expected to be released on the same date, but its retail price is still unknown at this time. (via VideoCardz)
