Micro-Star International has already said its piece on the video board market but, as it often happens, that is not the only segment that the hardware and PC supplier means to address. In fact, the company went ahead and also provided a pair of mobile computers, both eager to end up in the arms of end-users equally interested in performance, style and practicality. They go by the names of FX600 and FR600.

The portable computers have a jet black 3D totem seal coating and have a high degree of scratch and wear resistance, no doubt in order to allow their good looks to survive long trips unscathed. Their insides seek to bring the same level of satisfaction in terms of computing capabilities. At the heart of the notebooks lie Core i5 processors, backed up by up to 4GB of RAM. 250 GB, 320 GB or 500 GB of storage space are provided by a hard disk drive. Additionally, the Intel HD (FR600) and GeForce GT 325M 1GB graphics (FX600) will have full control over the 15.6-inch LCD displays.

Other specifications of the devices include a 4-in-1 card reader on each one, Gigabit Ethernet, Bluetooth 2.1, HD webcams, 802.11 b/g/n WiFi and 6-cell batteries. The newcomers also feature chiclet keyboards, and the FX600 even includes the GPU boost technology, which supposedly switches, automatically, between the integrated and discrete solutions. As for what makes the notebooks versatile, MSI threw in the Turbo Drive Engine, which optimizes overall performance, and the ECO Engine technology, which reduces the performance threshold in order to extend battery life.

Micro-Star International's latest inventions shouldn't take long to show up in stores, but their maker hasn't exactly said when and at what prices this will happen. Until these final details surface, information may be found in the official press release on the company's website.
