Micro-Star International recently issued a press release detailing the CR420, its newest Classic series laptop which, among other interesting hardware components, has the advantage of being equipped with the Intel Wireless Display technology.

Making and releasing new graphics cards is definitely not the only endeavor that MSI has been occupying its time with lately.

While it definitely turned some heads with the N480GTX Lightning, the hardware and PC supplier has also been active in its mobile PC development.

One of the most recent fruits of its labor is the CR420, the latest addition to the Classic series of laptops and one that is equipped with the Intel Wireless Display technology.

The Intel Wireless Display option, also known as WiDi, allows a PC to wirelessly stream videos in quality of up to 720p to a HDTV.

Needless to say, this capability would be moot if the notebook itself did not possess suitable specifications, and MSI definitely made it both capable and efficient.

An Intel Core i5 central processing unit is paired with up to 4GB of DDR3-1333 memory and its integrated HD graphics have a 14-inch HD LED screen to work with.

The machine also features a hard disk drive of up to 500GB, as well as a DVD super multi drive, Bluetooth v2.1 + EDR, 10/100 LAN, 802.11 b/g/n WLAN, a 1.3 megapixel webcam and stereo speakers.

All of these components are packed inside a frame measuring 344.4x 212 x 13.5.-28mm and weighing 2 kg.

Finally, the product is pre-loaded with Windows 7 Home Premium, boasts the ECO Engine power saving technology and a chiclet keyboard. Unfortunately, pricing and availability details are still a mystery.

“The CR420 also comes with a chiclet keyboard, a seamless touchpad, and beveled edge construction,” states the official announcement.

“Ultra-thin, the 14" CR420 tips the scales at less than 2.2kg to give you mobility without sacrificing power or performance,” the press release added.
