Micro-Star International was the first company to employ the no longer new multi-GPU technology from LicidLogix, and it seems that a new motherboard equipped with the HydraLogix chip is getting ready to make an appearance.

The HydraLogix chip can be said to be unique on the market through its ability to let any two or more graphics cards work together.

This includes not only cards with different model numbers and performance ratings, but even boards from different manufacturers.

In other words, it allows one to link together boards from NVIDIA and Advanced Micro Devices, establishing collaborations similar to the ones that identical GPUs can form through the SLI and CrossFireX technologies.

The newest motherboard to feature the HydraLogix chip goes by the name of Big Bang Marshall and is based on the Intel P67 chipset.

For those that do not know, the P67 chipset is the one that the new Sandy Bridge CPUs rely on, as it has the LGA 1155 socket.

The motherboard is one that can easily be said to be aimed exclusively at the enthusiast market, its 18-phase power design being just one of the hints of this.

There are four SATA 6.0 Gbps ports, in addition to just as many SATA 3.0 Gbps connectors, as well as four DDR3-2000 memory slots.

What truly stands out, however, is that this monster platform actually has eight PCI Express x16 slots.

Other specifications include a pair of 8-pin PCI Express power connectors, one 6-pin connector, Gigabit Ethernet, 7.1 channel audio and USB 3.0 ports.

Finally, the newcomer comes with the OC Genie technology, which lets one overclock the entire system at the touch of a single button.

January is the implied time of arrival for the MSI Big Bang Marshall, but there has been no word of prices on the leak that Donanimhaber provided.
