That some tablets would show up during the upcoming trade show was never really in question, but those that wanted something concrete to go on may have finally gotten their wish, even if it is just a report.

The past few months have seen the emergence of quite a few different tablet platforms and configurations.

The Tegra 2 from NVIDIA is just one ARM-based solution, while processors form Qualcomm (Snapdragon) and others also made their appearance.

Then there are those tablets that use an x86 platform and the Microsoft Windows 7 operating system, being more akin to PCs than smartphones.

MSI will have both types of slates on display during this year's edition of the Computex show, in Taipei, Taiwan.

The event lasts between May 31 and June 4, meaning that the outfit will have five days of showing off to do.

One of the tablets, the WindPad 100A, is the one powered by NVIDIA's Tegra 2 platform, meaning that is runs the Android 3.0 OS.

This particular slate will actually come later than the WindPad 110W, since the Honeycomb OS has some issues with applications compatibility and screen resolution.

More to the point, while it will start shipping this year, it will come near the end, with an Android 2.3 slate scheduled for the third quarter, as a sort of forerunner.

Speaking of the 110W, it is based not on the x86 Intel Atom platform, but the AMD Fusion architecture, the Brazos platform as it were.

It will be made officially available sometime in the month of July, although it is still in evaluation, as so Digitimes says. Either way, the Windows 7 OS will make it compatible with most programs available today, and advantage over Android, whose app collection isn't that sizable yet.

The actual launch will contain all information one could look for regarding the hardware.
