It seems that the ultimate test for a sport based videogame simulation is to predict the outcome of crucial matches and entire seasons. Now 2K Sports, a division of Take Two, is saying that a full season simulation done using their Major League Baseball 2K10 points to the Philadelphia Phillies as being the team which will become World Series baseball champions, beating the Boston Red Sox 4-1. The World Series Most Valuable Player award went to Jimmy Rollins and 2K Sports is saying that the main reason for the Phillies victory was the way they worked with Chase Utley.

The MLB 2K10 season simulation shows that the division championship for the American League will go to the New York Yankees, the Chicago White Sox and the Texas Rangers with the Boston Red Sox being the wild card. In the National League championships went to the Atlanta Braves, the St. Louis Cardinals and the San Francisco Giants with the Phillies getting the wild card.

2K Sports is also saying that Albert Pujols of the St. Louis Cardinals will be getting a fourth National League MVP with Dan Haren of the Arizona Diamondbacks getting the National League Cy Young award. Alex Rodriguez will be getting the MVP award for the American League and the Cy Young award going to C.C. Sabathia, both of the baseball behemoth which are the New York Yankees.

2K Sports is also announcing that Evan Longoria, the man who graces the cover of Major League Baseball 2K10, will also have a good season with 37 home runs, 90 runs scored and a batting average which goes to .281.

Major League Baseball 2K10 can be picked up for the Xbox 360 home gaming console from Microsoft, the PlayStation 3 from Sony, the Nintendo Wii, the PC, the PS3, the PlayStation Portable and the Nintendo DS handhelds. The game is rated E for Everyone, making it suited for a wide range of baseball fans.
