The last “Barbershop” film proved such a success that the execs over at MGM are ready to fork over some serious dough to Ice Cube to make him return on screen as the loud-mouthed barber. There is a third part of the comedy in the works, and it looks like it's going to star most of the original cast.

It's been a decade since the second part came out, “Barbershop 2: Back In Business,” which is why MGM is ready to offer Ice Cube a seven-figure contract to play in the third one, according to Deadline.

In the first two movies he played Calvin Palmer, Jr., a man who is struggling to keep a small family business in an African-American neighborhood, and also hold on to some real family values in the process.

Apart from Ice Cube, the producers are also courting Cedric the Entertainer and Queen Latifah, both members of the original cast who will lend continuity to the new film. Also, they have proven to have good chemistry together on screen.

It looks like lately Ice Cube has been starring in mostly franchises, as he's appeared in Jump Street (both 21 and 22), and “Ride Along” who just got greenlit for a sequel.
