A clean battlefield is a happy battlefield

Just a few days ago, PS3's exclusive massive online shooter, MAG, received another patch, bringing the game to the age of v1.02. The main changes Zipper brought to the title were directly related to Medical Support, as the biggest improvement made was to the field medic and the way the specialization worked. From now on, the downed player icon will only be seen on screen by those equipped with the “Resuscitation” Support Skill, clearing up the screen clutter considerably. Up until now, anyone with a Medical Kit would see the respective icon, even if they weren't in the position of actually helping these players.

Incapacitated players are also given a helping hand, as the medic icon has been tweaked for them as well. The icon will no longer be displayed on their screen unless the medic is one properly equipped to bring them back to life, simplifying the grueling decision of whether or not to instantly bleed out and respawn or wait for someone to stitch up that ruptured spleen. There's also a game bug that has been fixed, where submerged players could sometimes not be ressurectable.

A distance counter has also been added to see just how far the incapacitated player is, making it more easy to estimate whether or not you'll even make it to them on time to help them or not, making this the game's very own form of combat triage. The distance counter has also been added for the “Anti-Personnel” and “Anti-Tank” Mines for gamers equipped with the “Explosives Detector.” This will work for friendly, as well as enemy landmines, further increasing the accuracy of battlefield tactics.

There's also been an XP tweak made, for both levels 36 and 37. The XP requirement for 36 has been moved down to 21,999 experience points, from its previous 23,686, while 37's new requirement is of 23,083 experience points from the old 23,803, which looks like it was nothing but a simple typing mistake, and someone got the order of the digits wrong. The intact patch list can be found on the official MAG Blog, here.
