With temperatures soaring, so will the number of men and women experiencing that awkward moment when they realize they have sweat stains on their shirt. For the former, M&S has the perfect solution: the newly re-launched Dri-Guard, sweat-resistant shirt.

Men will soon be able to commute to work without having to dread that moment of the day when their antiperspirant fails them and they know they're forced to keep their jacket on to prevent others from seeing their armpit sweat stains.

Of course, this does nothing to solve the smell issue, as they must surely know.

This is where M&S comes in: Dri-Guard not only makes sweat stains history, but it actually prevents perspiration, thanks to the ingenious Smartweave technology, the Daily Mail reports.

“Their sweat-resistant shirt – named the Dri-Guard – has special 'Smartweave' technology that helps men stay dry in hot weather and avoid wet patches,” says the British publication.

“The high-tech fabric works by drawing the perspiration away from the skin and into the inner fabric, then dispersing it as vapor. The outer fibers of the shirt reflect moisture to prevent visible wet patches from forming and to prevent discoloration under the arms,” notes the Mail.

The shirt was first introduced to men in the UK last year, also in spring. It became a certified hit over the summer, as expected, so M&S is bringing it back for another round.

“Sweat patches can be an embarrassing problem for men, especially when traveling to and from work on an overcrowded transport. The Dry Extreme shirts provide the ultimate solution to sticky situations, offering a smart shirt with the hidden benefits to avoid wet patches and discoloration,” Mark Yates, M&S Menswear, Head of Innovation and Quality, says.

It was incredible demand for the shirt over the summer which convinced M&S to give it another go, Yates continues.

Dri-Guard is now available in 70 M&S stores across the UK, priced at £29.50 and £27.50 for the long-sleeve and short-sleeve version, respectively.
