Get dreamy lashes without going for fake ones

They say a woman can make her gaze more mysterious by going for long, lush, spidery like lashes. Achieving this, however, is more easily said in theory than done, in that women are faced with only two choices in the end: either choose fake lashes or a mascara that will surely bear down heavily on the natural lashes. Elle Magazine spoke with several makeup artists and, as it turns out, there is also a third option that many of us might not have been aware of.

For instance, Elle reveals, women with shorter natural lashes, and who do not like the fake type (be it because they are applied with great difficulty or on account of being damaging for our “natural fringe”), should consider using lash conditioners. RevitaLash is one such product, and it is said to make lashes “longer, thicker and fuller” in just three to ten weeks. Priced at $150 a pop, RevitaLash is reported to work wonders with just one application per day.

So, women with short or brittle natural lashes can try a treatment of this type during the night, and use a multi-purpose mascara by day. What this means is that, instead of choosing the mascara that is only lengthening or just curling, women should opt for one that does all this, while also making sure the natural hairs are healthy and growing. Tarte’s Lights, Camera, Lashes! is such “a 4-in-1 (lengthening, curling, volumizing and conditioning) dermatologist and clinically tested mascara that gives dramatic and thick” lashes. Priced at $18 and coming only in black, this is one mascara that will take care of your lashes like you never even imagined before.

If, now, after reading all this, there still are women out there toying with the idea of giving fake lashes a go, as Elle says, “tweezers and patience are key to avoiding a ‘sticky’ situation. Using the metal prongs to hold lashes as you squeeze on glue, wait (repeat, wait!) 20 seconds before pressing onto your lid,” since it’s only this way that the glue will act like the adhesive it’s supposed to be, and will not help create those gooey accumulations we all hate so much. Lash bars should also represent a major interest point for newbies in the art of applying fake lashes.
