Animal testing in the cosmetics industry is still very much present and, while we might be tempted to shrug it off because “they're just animals,” we'd be horrified if we ever saw that happen to a human.

This is precisely the idea that Lush Cosmetics, a brand that's raising awareness on the need to stop animal testing in the beauty industry, used for its more recent campaign – one that will certainly go down in history as well for how disturbing it was.

Performance artist Jacquelina Traides, 24, joined forces with Lush to show people what it was like to be an animal on which cosmetics were being tested.

She spent about 10 hours in a window shop, being plucked, shaved, pinched, pulled, forcefully fed and eventually body-bagged and dumped outside in the bin.

Check out the video above to find out more about this one of a kind protest, but also about how you too can make a change and stop animal testing.
