14 DAY TRIAL // Many Windows Phone fans probably remember that both Lumia 640 and Lumia 640 XL smartphones received a small OS and firmware update about a week ago.
The update was accompanied by a pretty short changelog that highlighted some of the most important changes included, such as VoLTE (voice over LTE) support for selected carriers, native Wi-Fi calling for a handful of carriers, and many other improvements.
However, it looks like the number of changes this update brings is much higher than we initially thought because Microsoft's official changelog doesn't mention any of them.
The good news is the folks over at MSMobile.pl have got their hands on the full changelog of the latest OS and firmware update for Lumia 640, WMPU reports.
If you own a Lumia 640 smartphone and already received this update, then here is what you will get aside from the new features and improvements mentioned in the first place.
The same changelog might be available for Lumia 640 XL too
So, software update 02177.00000.15184.36xxx/8.10.15148.160 brings improved camera sharpness, improved zoom in/out speed, video encoding bitrate improvements and better color balance and sharpness for the camera.
Some Bluetooth performance, audio quality and connection stability improvements have been implemented as well.
Microsoft also included some Wi-Fi enhancements, such as user manageable priority order for cellular and Wi-Fi networks, along with better user control for when to offload network usage to Wi-Fi.
Furthermore, LTE connection stability improvements, USSD1 coding scheme fix, port scanning blocking, and improved ARM/H & ARM/HS audio in mobile networks have been added too.
Last but not least, more than a dozen generic fixes have been implemented in the update. Here is the full list below:
- Improved touch behavior for extreme low and bright light conditions; - Miscellaneous stability fixes; - Reboot loop when Bluetooth on and not a single paired device fixed; - Improved 3D GFX performance; - Modem stability improvements; - Localization errors corrected in Arabics; - Improved NFC initiated Bluetooth pairings; - Phone freeze during idle / does not switch on fix; - Automatic proxy sensor calibration; - Ambient light sensor improvements; - Silent installer implemented to reduce the time of the first boot.
