The carrier will offer a $90 instant rebate on the phone

It's no surprise that MetroPCS will carry the Lumia 640 since the network operator already confirmed the information several weeks ago.

In fact, MetroPCS holds a contest where those who register to receive info on the Lumia 640 would receive various prizes, including Microsoft's Windows Phone smartphone.

Sadly, the carrier did not confirm when exactly the Lumia 640 would go on sale. Although we assumed that the smartphone would be available for purchase once the contest ends on June 15, it looks like the Lumia 640 is still MIA at MetroPCS.

Still, those who really want the smartphone have two choices: Cricket Wireless and T-Mobile. Both offer the Lumia 640 for $130 outright.

However, it looks like MetroPCS will finally introduce the mid-range Windows Phone handsets on June 22 for the same price.

But the good news is the carrier will offer a $90 instant rebate on the Lumia 640, which means customers will be able to get it for just $39.

The information has been recently confirmed by some internal documents received by WindowsCentral. The photos showing these documents confirm the smartphone will be available in white color.

Some stores might start selling it a few days earlier

Keep in mind though that MetroPCS brick and mortar stores should start receiving the Lumia 640 on June 18, but they won't sell it until Monday, June 22. Still, there's a slim chance that some stores will begin selling the smartphone right away.

MetroPCS will be the third carrier in the United States that launches the Lumia 640 after Cricket Wireless and T-Mobile. The fourth might be AT&T, which is expected to release the smartphone in the coming weeks.

Speaking of which, AT&T announced that it would begin selling the supersized Lumia 640 XL smartphone on June 26, so there's plenty of Windows Phones to choose from.
