Lumia 1030 is work in progress at Microsoft right now, and even though the company itself keeps everything behind closed doors, everyone knows that this particular device is in the works as we speak and should see daylight in the coming months.

Obviously, details are really scarce right now, but using the available information, the team behind Phone Designer created a new interpretation of the device which, according to people close to the matter, could come with a 50-megapixel camera.

The result is impressive to say the least, and as you can see in the photo gallery after the jump, the 50-megapixel camera perfectly matches the design of the phone, so that gigantic camera module shouldn’t affect the overall look in any way.

Leaked details

Even though Lumia 1030 is in the works as we speak, source familiar with Microsoft’s plans and a bunch of leaked photos come to disclose more about this project which could be released to users next year as the official successor to Lumia 1020.

The photos that have reached the web in the last few days point to a design that looks very similar to the one of Lumia 1020, but also comes with an enormous camera module on the back of the phone, obviously needed to accommodate the components required for the 50-megapixel unit.

If the design of the phone is anywhere close to this concept, there’s no doubt that no one would actually be bothered by the dimensions of the camera, especially because everything looks really stylish and seems to perfectly express the idea of a powerful camera phone.

According to these leaked details, the Lumia 1030 could come with a camera sensor manufactured by Toshiba, the same company behind other Lumia models, including 930 and 1520, both of which are Microsoft flagships.

Other specifications include a Qualcomm Snapdragon CPU, which is pretty much an obvious choice given the fact that Microsoft and Nokia already use similar units on the majority of their Lumia phones, and 2 GB of RAM coupled with 32 GB of storage space.

As far as the display is concerned, nothing is sure right now, but Lumia 1030 could come with a unit measuring between 5 and 6 inches in size, with a resolution of 1920x1080px.

Lumia 1030 will most likely run Windows Phone 10, so do not expect its debut to take place sooner than mid-2015, when the new operating system is likely to reach the final stage of development.
