The handset will arrive in the country before it lands in Europe

, the Windows Phone 8 smartphone that went official with a 41-megapixel photo snapper on the back, is expected to become available for purchase in China on August 15, new reports on the matter claim.

The handset was rumored before to have been slated for release in the country in mid-August, but no confirmation has emerged until now.

Today, however, users in China can see the smartphone listed on this page on ePrice, with the aforementioned release date attached, and with a price tag of 5,990 CNY (around $980 / €740).

As UnwiredView notes, the new Nokia Lumia 1020 has already been launched in the United States, and has yet to become available for purchase in Europe. Rumor has it that it will arrive on the old continent sometime in early-September.
