Paul Walker’s unexpected death in a car crash in November put the brakes on work on “Fast & Furious 7,” whose release date was pushed back to allow the family and the cast time to mourn, and to give the studio the chance to think of where they want to take the franchise next.

While this is happening, rapper and actor Ludacris is pretty much left strapped for cash, he argued in front of a judge the other day, as part of an ongoing custody battle with ex Tamika Fuller, TMZ says.

Fuller wants $15,000 (€10,936) a month for her 2-month daughter with Luda, Cai, but he claims that’s one fifth of everything he’s made throughout 2013 from start to finish.

He also claims that, as “Fast & Furious 7” was pushed back because of Walker’s death, he hasn’t been paid yet for his work on the film, so he couldn’t possibly fork over more than $7,000 (€5,107) a month in child support.

TMZ notes that Tyrese used the same argument to convince a judge of his “relative poverty in his child support case,” and he too convinced said judge.
