Cheaper tablets continue the highlight in developing markets like Eastern Europe

Recent information posted by research firm IDC claims that the Central and Eastern Europe tablet market is getting pretty ripe.

According to them, market share in this area rose with 175.6% in the Q2 of 2013. The tablet trend analysis also noted that Central and Eastern European customers tend to prefer lower cost Android device, which accounted to 84% of all tablet marketshare.

IDC CEMA program manager Nikolina Jurisic commented on the research results saying that “a large variety of tablets with low prices, especially Android, drove sales in the price-sensitive consumer segment.”

“This trend is expected to continue as the competition in the low end of the market intensifies, with new second-tier vendors entering the market and forcing international vendors to further reduce prices.”

Microsoft and Apple on the other hand didn't fair out so well, experiencing a drop in percents.Judging by the news, the Central and Eastern European market seems to be perfect for tablet business.

IDC predicts that overall tablet shipments will see an increase of 105% year over year, with numbers reaching 15 million units.

Android devices are forecasted to remain in consumers' preferences for an extended period of time, ending 2017.
