Since the new Android 4.4 KitKat version has been rolled out, brand vendors haven’t rushed to update their tablet devices. Sony, for example, recently provided the Android 4.3 for its Xperia Tablet Z and the same can be said for Dell, ASUS and others.

Nevertheless, it’s interesting to note, unknown device vendors offering unimpressive models tend to beat famous device producers in this department. It’s the case of European manufacturer Manta that, as TabletManiak reports, has confirmed the Android 4.4 update will soon be pushed to its line-up of tablets.

The device-maker is also planning to pre-load all-new slate models with the newest Android build or at least those that meet the technical requirements.

The first device to be updated will be Manta MID705DC, a tablet with a pretty basic set of specification. The tablet has a 7-inch screen with a ridiculous resolution of 800 x 480 pixel resolution. It draws life from a dual-core processor combined with a meager 512MB of RAM and backed up by 4GB of internal storage.

The device also has a 0.3MP camera, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, USB 2.0 and a simple 2000 mAh battery that should last users enough for a few hours of basic usage.

I’m actually pretty amazed these specs are considered enough to support Android 4.4 KitKat, so if you have a Manta MID705DC and have received the update, leave us a comment in the section below and tell us how it works for you.
