Since the GeForce GTS 450 is still very much alive and kicking on the mainstream market, Sparkle decided to make it smaller but just as powerful, creating the SXS4501024D5LHD.

Currently, the GeForce 500 series from NVIDIA is still limited to the GTX 580 and GTX 570 high-end solutions, with the GTS 560, the one for the higher level of the mainstream, set to come on January 25.

That said, the mid-end GeForce GTS 450 will still go for a time without a successor, so custom models will, naturally, keep appearing.

One of the most recent ones is the SXS4501024D5LHD, created by Sparkle and given a smaller than usual form factor.

Basically, it is a low profile version of the board, with a special, dual-slot cooler boasting a pair of fans of the dual axial variety.

Like all others of its kind, the newcomer features 192 CUDA cores, the GF 106 graphics processing unit and GDDR5 VRAM.

The chip itself has a clock speed of 783 MHz, while the shaders and 1 GB of GDDR5 memory work at 1,566 MHz and 3,608 MHz, respectively.

Other specifications include a memory interface of 128 bits and two video ports, namely a DVI and an HDMI.

“This design features dual axial fans which bring greater amount of wind volume. The unique airflow guide technology can bring the heat generated by GPU to the outside smoothly,” says the formal announcement.

“Thanks to the axial fan design, now users can get lower working noise from the SPARKLE GeForce GTS 450 Low Profile Graphics Card, making it a ideal products for home theater enthusiasts who seek quiet operation environment.”

Basically, the Sparkle GTS 450 SXS4501024D5LHD should help give any HTPC abilities on par with those of a regular desktop, all for the price of (probably) roughly 100 Euro.
